Spellbinding, a story of magic and adventure. Wattpad.com

June, 2019 (ongoing)

The door slowly crept open, light shot through the darkroom like a lightning bolt. A woman short in stature carefully walked across the old floorboards. She was wearing a long, black cloak. Her hands were old, frail. Long, yellow fingernails jutted out of her hands like daggers. The woman was hunched over, and she walked across the dusty floor. She made her way to a crib that was laying in the back of the room. A window was right above the crib moonlight shone on it.

The crib was pink and had hand-painted zoo animals surrounding the entire crib until it wrapped all the way around. The woman peered over the top of the crib, a sleeping infant lay wrapped in grey and blue blankets. The woman screamed words that had never been spoken in this realm, "Ngithatha lesi sikhali esandleni sami futhi ngithatha! *"

The woman's hood fell off her head as she raised a dagger that was embedded with precious jewels, the hood falling now showed her hideously ugly face. It was covered in wrinkles, warts, and she was extremely pale. Her long, white hair draped over her face like a mane. As she raised her dagger wind blew every which way, books and stuffed animals flew across the room. The infant started to scream as the woman plunged the dagger into its heart. The crying ceased, the wind stopped, the books and stuffed animals fell to the ground. The woman pulled her hood back over her face and crawled out the window of the old farmhouse.

The next morning a middle-aged man and woman came into the child's room. They walked up to the crib having a chat and then the woman looked down into the crib. She fell to the floor screaming and holding the infant's limp body close to her chest. The man ran out of the house screaming for help and a doctor. A little girl only about five years old stood in the doorway of the room her hand on the doorknob. She was wearing an old flannel nightgown. The little girl walked over to the woman and patted her on the shoulder while looking down at the infant.

"Mama, is Maat okay?" The little girl said.

" No, Hekate, Maat isn't okay. She's hurt real bad. " The woman said through her tears.

"Is she going to get any better?" The little girl said, tears beginning to well up in her eyes.

" No, hun she isn't. " The woman said, beginning to sob once more. Her face was wet with tears and she grabbed the little girl's hand with her trembling hand.
